As a condition of your engagement with IAI — whether as an employee, contract investigator, or independent contractor — you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Random Drug Testing: You may be subjected to random, unannounced drug testing at any time during your engagement with IAI, without prior notice.
- For-Cause Testing: IAI reserves the right to require immediate drug testing based on reasonable suspicion of impairment or drug use.
- Post-Incident Testing: Drug testing may be required following any workplace incident, accident, or near-miss event.
- Prohibited Substances: The use, possession, sale, or distribution of illegal drugs or controlled substances on or off duty is strictly prohibited while engaged with IAI.
- Prescription Medications: You must notify IAI's Executive Director of any prescribed medication that may impair your ability to perform investigative duties safely and legally.
- Consequences: A confirmed positive drug test will result in immediate termination of your engagement with IAI and may be reported to the Texas DPS Private Security Board as required by law.
- Compliance: Refusal to submit to a required drug test will be treated as a positive result and grounds for immediate termination.
